Deli owner Jeff Folkins has urged shopkeepers to install promotional banners along the parade in Kings Langley.

Mr Folkins, owner of Dalling & Co on High Street, said: "The village has become a place that people drive through on route to Hemel or the motorway and don't even notice how much it has to offer.

"I think we could do more to make people think of Kings Langley as a shopping destination."

The High Street boasts a string of upmarket retailers selling designer clothes, gifts, art, and deli foods, plus Indian and Italian
restaurants.

Mr Folkins has suggested High Street traders club together with the parish council to pay for banners or signs to highlight what they offer.

He told a meeting of the parish council on November 3 that a number of business owners had already backed the idea.

"I've asked around," he said, "And there's a general nod of the head when asking if they'd be willing to contribute towards it."
