Amy took part in a relay long run to support kids
Amy Kilpin
SPORTY Amy Kilpin is one of almost 2,000 runners who took part in an unofficial Olympic torch relay to raise money for disadvantaged children.
The marketing executive from Tring ran the 11-mile Aylesbury to Waddesdon leg of the Real Relay las Thursday (July 12).
The 672 runners started their relay on May 28 and ran all of the official 8,000-mile torch relay route from Land’s End to the Olympic stadium without stopping.
They ran through the night so Amy had to wake up early to collect her baton from Charlie Massey at 5.40am after he completed the Winslow leg.
The relay finished on Sunday, July 22 and by that time more than £7,000 had been raised for a charity called Chicks, which provides free respite for children living in poverty.
