Are you the right sort for charity’s vital job?

A selection of the opportunities available this week through Volunteer Centre Dacorum.

Enthusiastic and energetic volunteers are needed to help sort items that are donated to Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care.

The charity’s 19 shops raise vital funds that help pay for specialist care and advice to patients and families of those living with cancer or a life-threatening illness.

Sorters work in small groups to help unload items and then sort them ready for sale or recycling.

You would be based in Tring town centre and times are flexible to suit the volunteer.

This is an ideal role for those who are organised, methodical and like to keep active.

> A community savings and loans co-operative is looking for help in its new Bridge Street office as well as out and about at collection points in community centres.

Dacorum First Credit Union needs office helpers with admin and IT skills.

The role involves writing to new members with letters of welcome and information packs as well as helping to keep accurate records. An hour or so of your time each week is all they need.

The credit union prides itself on providing an excellent service to members and their customer service assistants are on the front line in making this happen.

Volunteers with good communication skills and an attention to detail are needed to take on this role.

Once trained in credit union products and procedures, you will undertake cashier duties, deal with telephone enquiries and help out with administration.

Volunteer cashiers are also needed to receive members’ savings at collection points throughout Dacorum.

All credit union volunteers need to either live or work in Dacorum to be eligible to help out.
