At just 10-years-old Madison Winter is the youngest daredevil taking the plunge for the Hospice of St Francis.

She will be doing a 100ft abseil off Hemel Hempstead’s Dixons Retail building in Maylands Avenue on Sunday, March 24.

The youngster, who goes to St Cuthbert Mayne School, is taking on the challenge in memory of her great aunt Denise Winter who lost her life to cancer. Madison, of Hardy Road, Adeyfield, said: “I just like doing things that are quite challenging. I’m really, really excited. Maybe a little bit scared but not much.”

She will be doing the challenge with her uncle, Lee Winter.
