New Mill plans in consultation

Plans for a controversial development to demolish much-loved New Mill Social Centre in Tring and replace it with six homes and parking have been submitted.

The application by Taylor French Developments was registered on Tuesday, October 9 and is now in a consultation period.

The company wants to build four three-bedroom and two three-bedroom houses, one of which will be used as a home for a chaplain for Tring School.

The project has been at the centre of a row between the people of New Mill and Tring Team Parish since the church leaders announced their plans last year.

Many people campaigned against losing the 100-year-old hall and rehousing more than 20 groups that used it on a regular basis.
