A new Marlowes coffee shop opened its doors to customers for the first time on Saturday.

The French family-run company Café Roastino launched its flagship UK store in Hemel Hempstead town centre with a free buffet.

Owner Francis Canale said: “The opening day was overwhelming. We were very, very busy and at some points it was difficult to cope.

“We made one or two mistakes but overall we were very pleased and had no complaints. I am very optimistic and happy about the future of the business.”

The store, situated at the corner of Bridge Street, specialises in coffee from many different countries including Colombia and Nicaragua, all roasted on the premises.
