DACORUM’S very own wine producers Frithsden Vineyard is holding a Food and Drink Festival on Saturday, July 9 from 12pm to 5pm.
The vineyard had been in operation from the seventies until 2001, but when it was bought by Simon and Natalie Tooley in 2006 there were no grape vines left, and they had the enormous task of replanting from scratch.
Just a few years on and next week you’ll be able to buy their delicious Chiltern White - made from the Solaris grape, Chiltern Flint, made from the Phoenix grape and Chiltern Rosé, made from the Rondo grape.
There’ll also be plentiful food stalls, as well as a barbeque.
And in case you’re still feeling a bit peckish afterwards you could always pop into The Alford Arms, a fantastic gastro pub which just happens to be next door, and enjoy a slap up meal.
Frithsden Vineyard, Frithsden, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 3DD, is open Friday to Sunday, 11am to 6pm.
Go and enjoy a glass or two!
