A BBC star will join friends as he takes part in a charity drumming performance.

Tring resident John Bly, of Antiques Roadshow fame, will star in We Got Rhythm at the town’s Court Theatre, Pendley, on Friday, March 2.

Mr Bly said: “This is a band show of the type that used to tour America and England in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.

“It is good all-round entertainment for people who love happy, swing-era music.

“It is now quite unique as the only one in England, but it is heralding a revival as the music of Benny Goodman, Gene Krupa, Glenn Miller, Buddy Rich and all those great names is coming back.”

The show will raise money for charity Iain Rennie Hospice at Home and will feature international big band drummer Garry Allcock and Linda Morris on vocals.

Tickets cost £17.50 and are available on 07543 560478.

Doors open at 7.30pm.
