Double the theatre fun at the Elgiva

LEAD into half-term with a couple of theatre treats at Chesham’s small, but perfectly formed, Elgiva.

From next Thursday, children and adults too, will enjoy that classic Dickens’ tale of an orphan who is sold to an undertaker and then falls in with a gang of pickpockets.

Lionel Bart’s wonderful musical adaptation of Oliver was the first London stage musical to be transplanted to Broadway with the same kind of sensation it received in Britain.

The music is sentimental and memorable from the haunting ballad Where Is Love? to the clamorous Food, Glorious Food, to the masochistic As Long As He Needs Me, and to the cheery You’ve Got To Pick A Pocket Or Two.

The popular musical is swiftly followed for one day only by a brand new Fireman Sam show Pontypandy Rocks!

Youngsters are invited to join Fireman Sam and all his friends as Pontypandy hosts its first ever music festival. Station officer Steele has booked a surprise guest to perform at the festival and it’s a big secret.

With so much to plan and prepare Norman Price and Mandy Flood are told to stay out of mischief but Naughty Norman is determined to find out who the secret superstar guest will be – at any cost.

Fireman Sam’s new show is full of great songs, daring rescues and more adventure than ever before.

See Oliver at the Elgiva in Chesham from Thursday, February 9 to Saturday, February 11, times are variable, and Fireman Sam on Sunday, February 12 at 1pm and 3.30pm.

Call the box office on 01494 582900 for tickets or go online at www.elgiva.com.
