Wake up call to panto fans in Beauty story
Kings Langley panto Sleeping Beauty.
It’s time panto fans woke up to something different, says a theatre director aiming to break the mould in family entertainment.
So with that in mind, Ben Crocker’s Sleeping Beauty will be performed in Kings Langley for the first time ever, starting from tomorrow (January 3).
Kings Langley Players director Andrew Knight said: “It’s about time we broke free from the Aladdin/Dick Whittington stranglehold and presented a panto with a fresh story – it’s time for The Sleeping Beauty to come to Kings Langley!
“It’s great to present the work of a writer new to our audience and Ben’s pantos are top-notch, he’s had rave reviews in the national press.
“He has a marvellous comic talent but stays absolutely true to the original classic story and embraces all the essential panto traditions.”
The Players are already doing a brisk trade in ticket sales at the new on-line booking office – the second Saturday matinee is over 60% sold.
The Sleeping Beauty is on stage at the Kings Langley Community Centre January 3-5. A new online box office is live 24 hours a day Visit www.klp.org.uk to check current availability .
If you’re not online you can still ring the Players on 07906 695959.
