Following the horrific attacks in America just a week before, thoughts went out to those of all nationalities who died.

Pictured here is Ashleigh Holding, aged 10, as she pens a prayer in memory of those who perished.

Ashleigh, of Mariner Way, Hemel Hempstead, was one of many Salvationists who pinned messages to a prayer board mirroring the reaction of church-goers across Dacorum.

More messages of remembrance were left by well-wishers at the Salvation Army headquarters in Waterhouse Street, Hemel Hempstead.

Meanwhile Muslims in the town pleaded with other residents not to make them scapegoats for the tragedy in America, and that they were also devastated.
