An 80-year-old woman died following a road traffic collision this morning.
Police are investigating the incident, which is believed to have occurred when a Tesco delivery lorry was exiting the service road by the Tesco Express in the Jersey Farm area of St Albans at 10.50am, when it collided with the woman.
The air ambulance attended the scene but the lady died as a result of her injuries.
Officers from the Tri‐Force Road Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses and information.
PC Shona Gillen said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed the collision, or who saw the lady prior to the incident, to contact us a soon as possible.
“We know there were people at the scene who left before we were able to speak to them. We are urging them to contact us as they may have vital information that could help our investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Herts Police via the non‐emergency number 101 as soon as possible, quoting ISR 259 of June 27.
