999 crews point the finger at firebugs after Tring football training ground blaze

A fire at a football club’s training ground in Tring was tackled by five fire crews this afternoon.

Firefighters from stations in Hemel Hempstead, Tring, Berkhamsted and Kings Langley were called to the blaze at the single-storey timber building in Miswell Lane, used by Tring Athletic, at 2.35pm.

Two hosereels and two breathing apparatus kits were used to put out the flames, but there was a limited water supply at the scene. It was dealt with by 3.37pm.

The fire is thought to have been started deliberately. Herts Fire and Rescue Service today released a warning to firebugs about the dangers of committing arson. Click here for more.
