Volunteer Centre Dacourm is hosting its annual meeting on Friday, October 12 at the South Hill Centre in Cemetery Hill, Hemel Hempstead, from 2pm.
The charity will be reporting back on the activities of its 40th anniversary year and celebrating the success of volunteers at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

> A cafe for people with demential and their carers needs a support volunteer.
Through training, the helper will learn new skills and be able to give information to and support folk with dementia and their carers.
The volunteer would help set up tables, provide refreshments and help run activities in Tring on Mondays from 10am to midday.
> Share a little of your leisure time with an adult with learning difficulties as a befriender with Mencap Dacorum.
The times are flexible and volunteers will get training, support, out of pocket expenses and something great to put on your CV.
A little of your time can make a big difference to someone else’s life.
> A responsible person who can lead other volunteers is needed to run a parent and toddler group.
The right person will have experience of working with children and preferably a teaching assistant or child care qualification or experience of child minding.
The role involves encouraging families with young children to socialise and mix at the Salvation Army’s Puddle Bucks Parents and Toddler Group on Tuesdays from 12.15pm to 2.45pm and Thursdays from 9.45am to midday.
Good organisational and communication skills are a must, and the volunteer will have to put out and tidy away toys.
