A CARNIVAL queen will be crowned during bank holiday celebrations that will feature traditional entertainment.

The Aldbury May Fair on Monday, May 7 will stay true to its traditional roots with maypole dancing and the crowning of the May queen.

New for this year will be an inflatable assault course and bungee run and Aldbury rock will be available from the village shop and around the fair.

The fancy dress parade starting at 2pm will be led by Aldbury Morris Men and the fun-packed day will include a teddy tower of terror, pony rides in the churchyard and an art exhibition at Aldbury pre-school and a laser arena.

Visitors will be able to take each other on in rowing machine and cycle races, plus there will be prizes for the fastest men and women.
