Homes in Apsley were plunged into darkness on Sunday evening after a fault on the high-voltage electricity distribution network.
The power cut at 7.40pm affected electricity supplies to 658 households in and around the High Ridge Road area.
A UK Power Networks spokesman said: “Power was restored in stages throughout the night, with the final 362 customers returning to power at 3.34am.
“We appreciate how difficult it can be to lose power and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by this incident.”
Second World War veteran Norman Skeates, 87, said: “It was complete blackness. I had to crawl on my hands and knees to get into bed.”
