Barclays Bank burglars make off empty handed after being disturbed

Raiders forced their way into a closed bank but made off empty handed after being disturbed by a passerby.

The burglary happened at Barclays Bank in Wood Lane End, Hemel Hempstead, just after 2am on Friday.

Four offenders were spotted escaping the scene in a dark coloured Audi.

Herts Police investigator Deborah Newsham said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have been using the cashpoint before this incident or may have been driving past when the incident was occurring.”
