A GARAGE in Hemel Hempstead was destroyed by fire on Thursday night.

The blaze, which is being treated as suspicious, broke out in a lock-up filled with timber in Bennetts End Road at around 11.30pm.

The fire spread to two neighbouring garages.

Fire crews took around an hour to bring the blaze under control.

Firefighters were perturbed to find that during the incident one of their flashing beacons was stolen.
