Beavers need more leaders

editorial image

Beavers are appealing for people to volunteer as leaders for the 1st Wilstone and Long Marston colonies.

After nine years service Jo Woodbridge is hanging up her uniform to retire at Christmas.

Like many, Jo started out in the role because her son Charlie joined the group.

Usually a parent in the community runs the group but these days volunteer numbers are lower.

Jo said: “Parents are not taking up the position because they are not available, especially if they have younger children.

“We are experiencing a real shortage of leaders so the more people we can get involved the better.”
