Big and bold blooms are winners at show

Gardeners showed the pick of their blooming crop during a floral society’s show on Saturday.

Members of the West Herts Chrysanthemum, Dahlia and Floral Art Society came together to display their colourful flowers at Little Gaddesden Village Hall.

The group meets every other Thursday at St John’s Church Hall, Station Road in Boxmoor from March to November and holds demonstrations and flower arranging lessons. The meetings are open to everyone and the next one will be on September 26 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

At Saturday’s show first prize winners were Doug Leslie and Keith Fleckney for Chrysanthemums and Dahlias.

The best in show accolade went to Gwen Rolls for her arrangement called Out Of This World.
