The Box Moor Trust welcomed some special guests when it hosted a visit by the London Blind Ramblers group.

Volunteers and trustees guided the walkers around some the most interesting corners of the trust’s land, through woodlands, wildflower meadows and through the valley grazing areas.

It was a sunny six mile walk and the air was alive with birdsong and natural scents.

The lunch time stop was in the old barn on Westbrook Hay before the walkers went downhill to be shown round the trust’s new centre.

London group co-ordinator Valerie Clark said: “The wonderful selection of wild flowers we saw and were described to our members, plus the other snippets which were mentioned during the walk were so interesting.

“The lunch time stop was ideal and so comfortable too, you certainly gave us a day to remember and so different from our normal weekly rambles.”
