‘Bring me sunshine’ say health bosses

HEALTH chiefs are promoting the importance of vitamin D as cases of rickets rise.

NHS Herts says one in four people have low levels of the ‘sunshine vitamin’ but vitamins are available free for pregnant or breastfeeding mothers and families on benefits with a child under five.

Dr Hilary Angwin, public health consultant, said: “Vitamin D is so important to keep bones and teeth healthy.”
