Bee-friendly gardens, seasonal fish and improved food waste management has helped three local pubs under Oakman Inn’s achieve two star sustainability champion status.

The Akeman in Tring, the Red Lion in Water End and Berkhamsted’s Kings Arms have all bee upgraded to two stars in the ratings, often called the Michelin stars of sustainability.

Pub group chief executive Peter Borg-Neal said: “The teams at our three Hertfordshire sites have never taken their eye off the sustainability ball. The Akeman in Tring is where we started our Oakman journey and living, working and playing locally means that protecting our local environment is very personal to me.”
