COMPANIES and employees across Herts facing redundancy can get free advice and guidance as part of a new initiative.

The Response to Redundancy programme will offer a mix of courses and advisory sessions.

It’s all paid for by the European Social Fund and the East of England Development Agency and delivered by trainers, tchc, and Wenta, the local enterprise agency for Herts and Beds.

Sharon Gaffney, redundancy expert at Wenta, said: “Employers across the region are facing the difficult prospect of making redundancies and many people are in jobs that are at risk.

“The redundancy consultation period is a very challenging time for those affected. This programme outlines the choices available.”

Employees at risk of redundancy can explore both self employment and employment career options.

Those looking for a new job can get help connecting with possible employers as well as guidance on job applications, interview technique, CV writing and money management.

Expert business advisors will also provide guidance to those planning to start a business including writing a business plan, market research, financial costs, cash flow, legal requirements and marketing.

They will also help ensure that business ideas are viable and offer guidance on market opportunities and connections to a network of business support organisations.
