Kodak in Hemel ‘not affected’ by US parent filing for insolvency
PHOTO firm Kodak says its Hemel Hempstead headquarters will not be affected by its US parent company filing for a form of bankruptcy.
The company, based in Boundary Way, says its 1,200 UK employees will be unaffected by the move and its ‘business as usual’.
Eastman Kodak in the US has filed for Chapter 11 insolvency, which allows companies to continue trading without going fully bankrupt.

Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 08:55 AMGroupie - re your final comment, some giant firms are like that now. They are the ones that managed to move with the times much better than Kodak has. Kodak just allowed other new companies to take over its space in the market and stood by watching. Companies that do not change with the times will inevitably die.

Friday, January 20, 2012 at 03:14 PMHow are the mighty fallen. Once half the town seemed to work at Kodak. Kodak House is now flats and the firm's huge influence is only a memory, the training centre opposite Gadebridge Park was replaced by homes years ago. Many families have reason to be grateful to Kodak both for jobs it provided and its support for the community - but giant firms aren't like that now.
