A BUILDER has won a national award for heading up a £50m project.
Adam Harding, 39, of Stag Lane, Berkhamsted, was given a gold prize at the Construction Manager of the Year Awards by TV personality Claudia Winkleman.
Mr Harding, who works for Hemel Hempstead-based firm BAM Construction, was praised for leading the building of the West Herts College Watford campus, which opened in September 2010.
He said: “I was overjoyed to win.”
But the dad of Poppy, six, still does unpaid odd jobs at Westfield First School, where his wife is on its Parent Teacher Association.
