THE owner of an upmarket Turkish restaurant that has been open for little more than a year is planning on splitting the business in two.

Okan Koseoglu, who owns Meze House in Tring, has submitted a planning application for a change that will see one half remains a restaurant and the other becomes a takeaway.

Mr Koseoglu, who also runs Mighty Bite takeaway in Akeman Street, launched the Meze House last May with the promise of belly dancing and giving people a real taste of Turkish and Greek cuisine.

Now he wants the eateries on Frogmore Street to have separate frontages, one for the restaurant and another for the takeaway.

His application for change of use came before Tring Town Council’s planning committee who had no observations to make. Now the application is going through its consultation period and Dacorum Borough Council will make a decision by the end of September.
