A SANDWICH-MAKER has backed a campaign against high speed rail plans by producing a special roll.
Steve Roost, who owns Tring town centre shop Sandwich Plus, has brought out a No To HS2 sandwich named The Roll In Chilterns.
Mr Roost, who has run the business since 1981, said: “I went to school in Wendover and live in Stoke Mandeville and is a subject everyone is talking about. It is something that is going to affect everybody.”
The roll, filled with gammon, egg, mayonnaise and baby spinach salad in a granary roll, costs £3.15 with 10p of every sale going towards the campaign.
Controversial plans for the high speed rail link from London to Birmingham would carve through the Chiltern hills.
