EIGHT county councillors have teamed up to give £4,500 to support the Dacorum Cultural Olympiad.

Councillor Andrew Williams gave £1,000 from his locality budget while others – Councillors Colette Wyatt-Lowe, Terry Douris, Richard Roberts, Jan Maddern, Ian Reay and Ron Tindall – each gave £500 towards a number sports and arts events in the festival programme.

The Olympiad was put in place to inspire and involve the whole community and promote the London Olympics.

On June 12, a Dacorum Festival of Culture is set to be staged at a number of sports clubs around the borough.
