FAMOUS rugby players will be coming to town as part of a fundraising event for those injured in sport.
A number of Premiership rugby players will be stopping in Tring as a charity cricket match takes place for the Walk4Matt charity on Tuesday, May 24.
Celebrities like Freddie Tuilagi, Andy Cooke, James Buckland, Harry Ellis and Matt Cornwell will be among those appearing at Tring Park Cricket Club.
The 40-over match will be played between a Tring XI and players from Walk4Matt.
It will raise money for The Matt Hampson Foundation, set up in the name of the former rugby player, who suffered a career-ending spinal injury.
The charity aims to inspire young people and support those who are seriously injured through sport.
The overnight stop in Tring is part of the charity’s 110-mile walk down the Grand Union Canal to Twickenham.
The event starts at 11am and finishes at 5pm and admission is free.
Last year’s visit saw more than 120 walkers stop off at Cheddington, before catching buses to the cricket club.
