A HOSPICE will report a suspected theft to the police after 40 miles worth of signs for its fundraising bike ride were taken down the day before the event on Sunday.

Organisers of the Chiltern Cycle Challenge that raises money for Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care had to reprint and replace signs for the event after discovering they had been taken down.

It cost the charity hundreds of pounds to put signs up on the route from Aylesbury through Bishopstone, Marsh, Owlswick, Bledlow Ridge, down into West Wycombe and back to Saunderton.

The good weather brought out almost 400 cyclists for the annual event yesterday.
