TWO hardy souls braved the cold drizzle of Monday night to put the lights on Berkhamsted’s new Christmas tree.
They were preparing the town for its annual Festival of Light on Sunday, when all of its Christmas lights will be officially switched on.
There will also be performances from a zumba band, rock choir, Berkhamsted School’s band and Hemel Hempstead Band, and more than 50 stalls selling festive goodies.
It is on from 3.30pm to 6pm in Berkhamsted High Street. Santa will arrive at 5.25pm, 10 minutes after the lights are switched on. At 6pm, there will be a carol concert at St Peter’s Church.
