Civvies take on RAF for hospice fund

DOZENS of athletes will descend on RAF Halton this Saturday at 11am to take part in the very first RAF Halton Sprint Triathlon to raise money for Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care.

Both civilians and military personnel will be taking part alongside each other in the physical test of endurance,

Participants will swim 10 lengths of a 30-metre pool, cycle 21k and run 5k.

Event organiser, corporal Matt Nowicki said: “Although this is a test for our triathletes, it is very achievable and we have plenty of people who are taking it on for the first time.
