Hemel Hempstead firm Vanarama has been driving home its good business ethic of giving back to the community.
Patients and carers of The Hospice of St Francis can now get to appointments more easily, thanks to Hemel Hempstead leasing firm Vanarama, which has donated a Ford Galaxy to the hospice.
As well as offering a pick-up service to patients who are unable to drive, the Galaxy will be used by the Community Nursing team, who make more than 2,600 visits to patients in their own homes each year.
Andy Alderson, managing director at Vanarama, said: “The staff here were keen to demonstrate support for a local charity.
“Some of our employees have had personal experience of the expert care and support The Hospice of St Francis has given their own family members and were keen to ‘give something back’.
“The Hospice was therefore the natural choice. By providing it with the vehicle we can help its hardworking staff to make a tangible difference to patient care.”
