A selection of the opportunities available this week through Volunteer Centre Dacorum.

THE HOSPICE OF ST FRANCIS

Are you a whizz with eBay? The hospice needs volunteers who can research and list some of the wide range of donated objects on the buying and selling website.

They are looking for someone with an interest in vintage photographic equipment, retro fashion or a passion for eBay generally.

They also need help with wrapping up and sending out the items they have sold to addresses all over the world.

And the hospice’s homeware store in Berkhamsted needs fit and energetic volunteers to help out at weekends.

This role involves measuring, labelling and helping to restore donated furniture and then moving stock from storage on to the shop floor.

The right volunteer will have good customer service skills and be willing and able to help load items into customer’s vehicles.

These roles are based at the Hospice of St Francis distribution centre on Northbridge Road, Berkhamsted.

Carers in Hertfordshire

Have you been an unpaid carer for a friend or family member?

This charity needs information assistant volunteers for GP surgeries in Tring and Berkhamsted.

You would be talking to individual carers about the support available to them and how this can make a difference to their caring role.

You don’t have to have been a carer yourself , though you would be particularly welcome if you have, but should have good communication skills and enthusiasm to improve the lives of carers.

Help is needed either once or twice each month on Tuesday afternoons at Rothschild House Surgery in Tring and Thursday afternoons at Milton House Surgery in Berkhamsted.

Training is provided and support offered via Skype from an experienced advisor. Volunteers should be 18 or over for this role.

British Heart Foundation

Volunteer owner drivers are needed to collected donations from customer’s homes. Not everyone can get along to the Marlowes branch of the charity shopchain, so if you could collect donated goods you will be making sure that the team don’t miss out on some great items.

If you have a little free time and are passionate about the cause, this could be the role for you.
