A police force teamwork pact has been signed by Herts crime commissioner David Lloyd.
The historic three-way collaboration with Beds and Cambs will see the county work more closely with its new partners on ‘back office’ and other shared functions, while achieving better value for public money.
According to the Herts force, the new agreement will free-up valuable funding that will help Mr Lloyd protect the future of policing in the county.
Mr Lloyd said: “This agreement will play a big part in meeting the financial challenges we all face.
“We need to find ways of making some of our centralised operations more efficient so that we can keep putting resources into frontline neighbourhood policing in each of the county’s ten boroughs and districts.”
Chief constable Andy Bliss added: “This agreement will help us in our endeavours to make Herts an even safer county.”
