The weekend’s Herts County Show had blazing sunshine throughout, which encouraged people to turn out in their thousands for the two-day event.
One of the highlights at the County Showground in Redbourn included the Herts Farmers Fantastic Forktrucks. They entertained on both days of the event, while visitors on Saturday were enthralled by the Devil’s Horsemen – Europe’s number one trick riding team, followed on Sunday by the spectacular Jason Smyth Aerial Motorbike Stunts.
There were also representatives from Herts Constabulary, the fire service, county council and the Herts Air Ambulance – which won first prize in the best outside trade competition. They were there to meet the public, answer questions and give advice.
Also among those going home winners from the show was Kings Langley Primary School pupil Daisy Johnston-Barrett who bagged first prize in the nine to 11 age category of the primary schools art competition.
Show secretary Mike Harman said: “We are particularly delighted that yet again our family ticket sales hit a new record, a clear signal that our unique package of attractions and demonstrations combined with ‘all-inclusive’ entertainment policy, is valued by our show supporters.
“As always, we will be reviewing all aspects of the show in the coming weeks with a view to making further improvements for next year.”
