Green-fingered teens have been spending the cold winter preparing a brand new garden for care home residents to enjoy when summer comes back around.

Adeyfield Adventure Playground’s youth forum designed and sourced materials for the new outdoor space at Mountbatten Lodge, and also secured £500 of funding from Herts county councillor Anthony McKay’s locality budget.

Features include a vegetable patch, bird table and run for the home’s pet rabbit Jasper.

Lodge manager Trish Daniel said: “This is a very welcome addition to our home and I know our residents will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.”
