Resurfacing work which will see a stretch of the A41 closed in both directions overnight for around a month begins today.
The scheme to repair worn-out sections of the road from the Hemel Hempstead junction with the M25 to the A4251 at Bourne End will cost in excess of £580,000.
The work will be carried out by Herts County Council contractor Eurovia between 8pm and 5am on Monday to Fridays only, over an expected 21 nights.
County council cabinet member for highways Terry Douris said: “We appreciate this is a major route and understand these essential maintenance works are likely to cause disruption to motorists. We are very sorry for any inconvenience and would ask for residents’ understanding.”
Signed alternative routes will be in place. Click here for more information on roadworks across the county.
