A NEW garden waste collection service is available for Buckinghamshire villagers.

People who live in Aston Clinton will be able to take advantage of Aylesbury Vale District Council’s new scheme in April, before it is rolled out across Cheddington, Ivinghoe and Pitstone in early June.

Those interested in the service can complete a form on the council’s website and will be charged £36 a year.

Under the scheme, residents will receive a brown, 240-litre wheeled bin, which will be emptied once a fortnight between February and November.

The bins can be used to get rid of grass and hedge cuttings, leaves, weeds, tree and shrub prunings, small branches and garden plants and fallen fruit.

Soil, stones or rubble, noxious weeds, plastic flower pots, treated or painted wood, vacuum dust, cardboard, food and pet litter or bedding willl not be accepted.
