A police raid on a Hemel Hempstead home has led to the arrest of a man for possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
Paul Whetter, 41, was charged after officers carried out a drug warrant on his house in Lime Walk, Bennetts End, yesterday morning.
During the raid, 16 wraps of suspected heroin were seized.
The move was part of the forcewide initiative Operation Scorpion – designed to drive down crime and make Herts a hostile place for offenders.
Chief Insp for Dacorum Glen Channer said: “Drugs have a negative impact on the local community and we will respond to people’s concerns, as we have in this case.
“We will continue to deal robustly with anyone who is suspected of dealing drugs in Dacorum.
“If you have information about suspected drug dealing in your neighbourhood, we’d like to hear about it so we can take action.”
Mr Whetter will appear at Hatfield Remand Court today.
