A SCHOOL event that brings together people from different backgrounds has been given a cash boost.

Three councillors have pledged funds from their county council locality budgets to splash out on Hemel Hempstead School’s multicultural evening.

Councillor Stephen Holmes gave £600, Councillor Ron Tindall pledged £400 and Councillor Richard Roberts gave £400.

The money will support the event which brings together people from different cultures within the community for an evening of entertainment at the school in Heath Lane.

Locality grants were launched in July 2009 and allocate each county councillor £10,000 to spend on worthwhile projects within their wards.
