The local history museum is organising activities for Heritage Open Days 2012.

People can join free guided walks, which will be led by local historians Tim Amsden and Mike Bass, this weekend to learn about the sites around the town centre and Tring Park.

The walk around the historic core of the town centre will take place on September 8 and 9 from Tring Local History Museum in Brook Street at 2pm.

The Tring Park walk, also taking place on September 8 and 9, will start from The Natural History Museum on Akeman Street at 2pm.

In addition Tring Local History Museum will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday as usual but also on Sunday from 1pm to 4pm so walkers can visit it beforehand.

Heritage Open Days celebrates England’s fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to places that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission.
