Longdean School’s commitment to teaching about global issues has led it to be chosen for a major new school twinning project.

The secondary school on Rumballs Road, Hemel Hempstead, is now developing international links with Ghana as teachers and students work with the African country’s Bedomase Junior School.

Longdean head Graham Cunningham said: “There have already been visits to and from Longdean. Throughout these visits staff from both schools observed lessons, shadowed staff from the other school, planned together and learnt about the administration and monitoring carried out in each other’s schools.”

Pupil Emily Rogers said: “I would be privileged if I were able to visit one of the many links that makes our school so diverse and special. I am keen to see how life in Ghana differs from ours here in the UK.”
