Fire Service job cuts

A DOG-WALKER stamped out a blaze caused by young firebugs.

Hemel Hempstead firefighters were called at 2.30pm on Sunday and rushed to the scene in nearby Gadebridge Park.

But by the time they got there, the fire had already been put out.

Crew commander Chris Williams said: “It was just some kids mucking about who started it.”

He said they used an old T-shirt and paper to start a fire underneath one of the park’s skate-ramps.
