More than 8,000 households risk losing their say in the upcoming police commissioner elections because they have not returned registration forms.
Voter registration forms have been sent out by Dacorum Borough Council and must be returned by October 8 for people to be able to vote on November 15.
The new post of police commissioner for Herts will take over the responsibilities of Herts Police Authority, which sets policy for the force.
Nominations for the elections open on October 8 and so far the Conservatives and Labour have announced candidates.
Those who have not received or have lost the form can call 01442 228000 and ask for Electoral Services, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.dacorum.gov.uk/registertovote
A national advertising campaign about the elections is due to start on October 22.
