DONATIONS of wool are needed to keep happy knitters clicking their needles for a good cause.

The happy band of volunteer knitters turn double knit and three or four ply wool into beautiful hand-made garments.

These are passed on by Dacourm’s Volunteer Centre to good cause Blythswood Care, which sends them to youngsters in Eastern Europe and beyond.

The colourful hats, scarves, jumpers and blankets make a real difference to the lives of babies and children in Africa, India and Romania.

Anyone with wool to donate can drop it off at the volunteer centre at the Roundhouse in Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead.

The centre is closed for the festive season but will reopen its doors on Tuesday, January 3.
