A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a collision between a van and a car outside Ashridge Business School.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the estate at 7.10pm last night after being alerted that a casualty had been trapped inside a vehicle.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered that nobody was trapped but a woman had collapsed at the side of the roadway. She was assessed by paramedics, who said she had no injuries.

Police spokesman Nicola Lawrence said: “We have a woman arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and she currently remains in custody.

“She’s a 49-year-old woman from Dunstable, but has not been charged yet.”

UPDATE:

She has now been charged with drink-driving and named as Lesley Allam, of Chiltern Road, Dunstable. She will appear in court on October 18.
