As the weather warms up Three Rivers District Council is leading a series of walks, run in conjunction with the Friends of The Withey Beds and the Friends of Croxley Common Moor.
The first walk on Sunday (April 19) will see Martin Ketcher from the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust guide visitors around Croxley Common Moor and talk about Britain’s fastest declining mammal, the water vole.
There will be a spring wildlife walk at The Withey Beds on Saturday, April 25 from 10am to midday. The tour of the nature reserve will be in search of signs of spring including butterflies, dragonflies and slow worms. There will also be a guided walk of the same venue on Sunday, May 10 from Batchworth Lock Centre at 2pm. The final walk for April is a bird discovery at Croxley Common Moor on Sunday, April 26 at 10am.
