LEARN about dormice and bats that lurk unseen at a popular beauty spot.

The elusive edible dormouse - or Glis glis - was released into the wild from Tring Park in 1902.

A talk on the species is at the Ashridge Estate Visitor Centre at 8pm on Saturday. The cost is £10.

Next Wednesday, there is a walk at 9pm from the base where hikers will search for and be told all about bats. The cost is £5 for an adult and £3 for a child.

For more information or to book a ticket to either event, phone the centre’s box office on 01442 851227.
